How We Share Your Information

Personally Identifiable Information: The information we gather (including email addresses) is not shared with other organizations or parties. From time to time when we play a leading role in another organization’s event or if the subject matter is important for you to know about, we may send out emails on behalf of this like-minded organization, but we do not provide them with access to any personal information that you have provided. Bend the Arc: Jewish Action may share your personally identifiable information with third parties for the purpose of providing Bend the Arc: Jewish Action services to you. If we do this, such third parties’ use of your information will be bound by this Privacy Policy. We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers).

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, such as user content, becomes available to the public, as controlled by any applicable privacy or website customization settings. If you remove information that you posted to Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or if other users have copied or saved that information.

Except as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action will not disclose personal information to any third party unless required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the law, comply with legal process served on us or our affiliates, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; (b) to enforce this policy, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, our users or others.

How we track HTML email analytics

We make use of both "open-tracking" and "click-tracking" in our HTML email blasts (i.e. emails that contain text and images). Open-tracking allows us to find out how many people have viewed our email newsletters and click-tracking allows us to find out which links in the email were clicked on. This helps us to refine and improve the editorial content of our emails, and to provide you with relevant information.

"HTML-sensing" is used to determine if your email client supports HTML-based emails. This is employed only if you request our system to detect whether you can receive HTML emails. If you have any questions, please email: [email protected].

How We Protect Your Information

Bend the Arc is extremely protective of the information it gathers through its advocacy campaigns, legislative and organizing work, the mail, and its website. We care about the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Bend the Arc: Jewish Action or guarantee that your information on the service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. Your privacy settings may also be affected by changes to the functionality of third-party providers, such as social networks. Bend the Arc: Jewish Action is not responsible for the functionality or security measures of any third party.

To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to your email communications from Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, at all times.

In the event that personal information is compromised as a result of a breach of security, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action will promptly notify those persons whose personal information has been compromised, in accordance with the notification procedures set forth in this Privacy Policy, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Bend the Arc is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. When you contribute online or by other means to Bend the Arc, we use a secure server and encryption to protect your financial and other personal information during transmission.

Bend the Arc: Jewish Action endorses and follows the Donor Bill of Rights — created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals — a recognized standard for organizations that engage in fundraising for philanthropic purposes. Bend the Arc Jewish Action does not sell its list — ever. Occasionally, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action does exchange mail lists with like-minded organizations through bonded third-party vendors. These organizations are never given information about our membership directly. Information pertaining to the contributions of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action supporters is never — under any circumstance — released to external entities for the purpose of list exchanges.

Making online donations

Our online donation processor encrypts credit card information, and your card number is never visible to our staff. If you mail us a credit card donation, your card details are shredded as soon as the gift is processed.

Our website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under our control.

All credit card information and processing is handled by PayPal and the information you enter on a donation or payment page is shared only, via encryption, with this third-party service provider in order to process payments.

Bend the Arc will never ask for you to provide your Social Security number, Driver’s License, Passport or any other personal identity information.
