Description
On Hanukkah, we light candles that pierce the darkness and show the world who we are and what we stand for. The story of Hanukkah is one of resistance, of victory over authoritarianism. In today’s world, this means standing up to leaders who use our country’s resources to oppress, detain, and deport. It means rejecting the white nationalist ideology that endangers so many of us, and that fuels President Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda.
In looming budget negotiations, President Trump is asking for billions to fund his wall, aggressive deportations, and deadly immigration jails. We reject any national budget that supports these policies of darkness, exclusion, and hate. Join us on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5 AT 6 PM at the ICE Building on the South Side (3000 Sidney Street) as we join with our neighbors, shine our Hanukkah lights, and DEFUND HATE.
